Journal20·About

About & Editorial Policy

Journal20 was built on the belief that a directory should work the way a good printed index does: clear headings, honest entries, and no surplus type. The project began as a straightforward effort to record active websites across the major sectors of the web — gaming, health, technology, travel, and the rest — in a format that anyone could consult without instruction. The name Journal20 reflects that founding intention. A journal, in the printer's sense, is a record kept faithfully over time — updated as the trade changes, corrected when errors are found, and maintained with a quiet sense of professional responsibility. The 20 is simply part of the imprint; every directory needs a way to identify its edition. The editorial process at Journal20 is manual and deliberate. Every domain submitted through the add-a-site form is read by a human reviewer before it enters the directory. Sites are checked for activity, relevance to their stated category, and basic professionalism. This takes longer than an automated system would, but it produces a more reliable column — one that a researcher or buyer can trust to return a working link. Journal20 currently holds over 793 approved listings across 22 sections. The directory is free to browse and free to submit to. There are no premium placement tiers, no sponsored positions, and no editorial influence for sale. A listing either earns its place in the record or it does not.
